PRINCE William’s wife Kate has decorated the royal nursery on a Beatrix Potter theme — after advice from stepmum-in-law Camilla.

Kate, a distant relative of children’s author Potter, became close friends with Camilla before George’s birth last month.

She thinks that Prince Charles’ wife has “exquisite taste”.

Kensington Palace officials had wanted the future king’s room to be stuffed with antiques. But a source revealed: “Camilla has experience in dealing with the ‘old grey men’. She put her foot down, saying it should be Kate’s choice.”

The nursery is thought to be decorated with characters such as Peter Rabbit. And Kate, 31, is said to love the way Camilla, 66, treats George as just another grandchild who “wees, vomits and does everything babies do”.
